BRING AN IDEA LEAVE WITH SOMETHING REAL
A hackathon for high school students. DATES TBD at VENUE TBD. No experience needed — bring a laptop and something you want to make.
STUDENTS
Open to every skill level
Every high school student is welcome, whether you have shipped a dozen projects or have never opened a code editor. Teams are up to TEAM SIZE people, and you can come without one — we run team forming on the first morning.
WEEKEND
DURATION hours, start to finish
Doors open START TIME and demos wrap by END TIME. You build across one weekend — no prep work beforehand, nothing due afterwards. Meals, space to sleep, and mentors are covered for the whole run.
IN PERSON
VENUE NAME TBD
One room, everyone in it. There is no remote track — the point is being next to people who are stuck on the same thing you are. Address and travel details go out with your confirmation email.
NO EXPERIENCE
First hackathon? Good.
Beginner workshops run through the opening block, and mentors stay on the floor the entire weekend. Most people here are building their first thing. That is the normal case, not the exception.
HACK THE NET IS A WEEKEND WHERE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BUILD SOMETHING THAT DIDN'T EXIST ON FRIDAY.
NO PITCH DECKS, NO ENTRY FEE, NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE. BRING A LAPTOP AND AN IDEA—WE HANDLE THE ROOM, THE FOOD, THE MENTORS, AND THE REST.
Run by students, for students. We started this because the nearest hackathon was three hours away and cost money we didn't have. ORGANISER CREDIT TBD
